Criteria ISED Membership

As of January 1st 2008 the criteria for ISED membership change. New members will need a publication record which contain at least

• 6 (S)SCI-articles articles published in the preceding 6 years or
• 5 (S)SCI-articles and at least one other international scientific article, book or chapter in book published by an international scientific publisher in the preceding 6 years or
• 4 (S)SCI-articles and at least two other international scientific articles, books or chapters in books published by international scientific publishers in the preceding 6 years.

For new applications we will no longer use the so-called ISED-journal list. All articles have to be paper versions; electronic versions do not count.

In 2008, for the last time, the ISED secretariat has used the old criteria to check the publication records of the sitting members. Staff who does not meet the criteria will be notified.

Recent PhD-graduates can apply for membership (either as junior lecturer or Post Doc) based on a thesis that was defended successfully less than three years before the application date. Three years after their thesis defense they have to satisfy the new criteria in order to continue their membership.
